Mobility of Goddesses (Clip)
Clip from a 20-minute video art piece, which was part of an installation. The video was projected on a statue of Venus at Wellesley College, a statue I walked past every day on my way to class. Including footage from my travels abroad and music performed by the Wellesley College Choir, the video explores themes of nostalgia and asks what it means to be 'home' when one has lived in so many different places. Shot with the Sony A6300 and edited in Adobe Premiere. Completed in May 2018 for Intermediate Video Production course in non-narrative film.
Exploration (Clip)
Clip of a 20-minute documentary about nonbinary gender identities. The video focuses on gender exploration: different ways of expressing gender and the paths these individuals took in finding their gender identity. To protect the privacy of those interviewed in this video, the clip in password protected. E-mail me for access to the clip, or for the full video, if interested. Completed in March 2018.
Recovery
When assigned to create a video using appropriated media, I new immediately that I wanted to use these youtube dance videos. I'd been watching these choreography videos for months, and loved the emotion the dancers expressed. I then began thinking about body image issues in the dance world, and decided to set the video to a poem written by a friend of mine about struggling with an eating disorder. It's a complicated subject. These dancers clearly love their art form, but there is often pressure to be perfectly slim in the dance community. The video hopes to reflect on this complicated relationship by using the dancers' motions to emphasize the words of the poem. Footage found on YouTube and edited in Adobe Premiere.

"Keep Her Waiting" Music Video
For my final project in Intro to Video Production, I created a music video for a song writen by an old summer camp friend. I've always been fascinated by music videos with a clear narrative and worked to make such a video myself. Using visual themes of suspension and warm/cold tones, the video captures the pain of being lead on and how hard it is to eventually let go. Completed in December 2015. Shot on a CanonXA10 and edited in Adobe Premiere.
